I have been invited to give a paper as part of the CASiLaC (Centre for Advanced Studies in Languages and Cultures) ECR Seminar Series in UCC. My paper, “‘An Array of Strategies and Techniques’: Lorna Dee Cervantes’s Docupoetry,” comes at the right time as I begin writing my monograph. Weeder of Wreckage: Documentary and Death in the Poetry of Lorna Dee Cervantes will be published by Peter Lang. My book proposal was selected as the runner-up in the Peter Lang Young Scholars Competition in Women’s Studies, 2015. This book will expand on the research I completed as part of my PhD thesis, Chicana Poetics: Genre and Style in Gloria Anzaldúa and Lorna Dee Cervantes (2015). I will blog a bit more about my experience of writing the monograph as I delve further into the work. The research seminar takes place on the 24th of February 2016 at 4pm. See the poster below for further details.
